In recent years, there have been several instances of conflict between boxers and their wives. Most recently, former WBA and IBO light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol and his ex-wife Ekaterina Bivol were involved in such a rift. Amidst this, Dmitry fought Artur Beterbiev for undisputed status last night. Interestingly, after Dmitry’s defeat, his ex-wife Ekaterina was seen cheering for Beterbiev’s victory.

Artur Beterbiev is regarded as one of the best light heavyweight boxers, holding more titles than Dmitry Bivol. Beterbiev’s impressive knockout record demonstrates the immense power he possesses. On the other hand, Dmitry has solidified his reputation by defeating renowned boxers like Canelo Alvarez and Malik Zinad. Interestingly, Bivol and Beterbiev entered their fight last night as undefeated boxers.

Dmitry Bivol fell short in his clash against Artur Beterbiev and couldn’t claim the undisputed status. However, the fight result also seemed controversial as several fight fans called it rigged. In the midst of it all, Dmitry’s ex-wife, Ekaterina, seemed quite happy how her ex-husband lost against her Russian rival.

This comes after the accusations that Ekaterina Bivol made against her ex-husband a few weeks ago. The couple has been having disputes for over a year now. During Ekaterina’s recent criticism of Dmitry, she also mentioned that she would be supporting Beterbiev to win. After the fight, she clearly showed how happy she was for her ex-husband’s rival.

Fight fans react to Dmitry Bivol’s ex-wife’s reaction to his defeat

Dmitry and Ekaterina married in 2013, but after more than a decade together, they decided to end their marriage in 2023. Following their divorce, Ekaterina Bivol stated that Dmitry Bivol had physically abused her, which might justify her support for Dmitry’s opponent. However, this stance might not sit well with the boxing community.
