The Los Angeles Dodgers have found themselves in the spotlight amid the ongoing federal investigation of their owner, Mark Walter. This has led to speculation regarding the team being sold. On Friday, CEO Stan Kasten denied such talks and expressed that the NL West side is not for sale.

Walter is currently under investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and securities regulators. The 66-year-old is being probed over $16 billion in possible fraudulent loans.

The businessman currently owns and controls Delaware Life Insurance Company and Clear Spring Life and Annuity Company. As per reports, these life insurance companies made loans to other companies tied to him and his TWG Global holding company.

The problem is, they did not report it as “related party” transactions. As per rules, the companies have to report “related party” transactions to limit conflicts of interest and protect policyholders.

Amid the ongoing investigation, Walter agreed to sell his stake in the Los Angeles Lakers. The American international, who bought a majority stake in 2025 for $10 billion, sold the team for $12.5 billion.

Apart from the sale of the Lakers, Walter is also selling his shares in English Premier League team Chelsea FC. As a result of this, there are now some questions regarding the Dodgers.

The 9-time World Series winners currently have the highest revenue in the league at $850 million, as per Forbes. They also have the highest tax payroll in MLB at $430 million.

On Friday, team CEO Stan Kasten once again answered the questions regarding the Dodgers. He stated that the organization was not for sale.

I wanted to make sure everyone understood one thing very clearly: The Dodgers are not being sold. They’re not gonna be sold. They’re not for sale. There’s no process that has been started to sell it, period. We are planning only to win.

Stan Kasten said regarding the Dodgers as per Jack Harris

Walter and his investment firm, Guggenheim Partners, acquired the Dodgers for $2.15 billion in 2012. Since then, the LA-based side has gone on to become one of the biggest teams across the Big 4 leagues.

Recently, Walter was present with the team during their visit to the White House and met President Donald Trump. This marked a second straight year the Dodgers went to the White House and celebrated with the President following their back-to-back World Series championships.
