A Judgment Day member resorted to his social media prowess to remind CM Punk of his infamous AEW spot with Penta.

It’s easy fodder for the obnoxious heels in WWE today to keep reminding CM Punk about what went wrong with him in AEW. This time around, it was Dominik Mysterio‘s turn to troll The Second City Saint once again. He quoted a reply to WWE’s post on X inquiring about fans’ ideal dream opponent for Raw newcomer Penta.
Mysterio used a GIF of Punk’s AEW match with Penta, where the Chicagoan botched a top-rope hurricanrana on the luchador. Dom tagged Punk as a way to mock the 46-year-old veteran about that debacle of a maneuver. It’s not the first instance when the Judgment Day member has gone off on Punk.
The fans are still awaiting the day they’ll meet on-air in WWE. For the unversed, Dominik was Punk’s first match at a live event in MSG in December 2023, a month after Punk’s WWE return. Speaking of the moment that stole the show on Raw this week, Penta finally made his debut.
He wrestled a clinic with Chad Gable, which the latter even admitted to on social media. As for the man who bleeds cero miedo, Michael Cole welcomed him to the “big time” as soon as he pinned the American Made leader. Afterwards, he expressed gratitude to everyone in attendance and those supporting him from his birthplace of Mexico.
WWE was happy with how Penta’s debut panned out. There was also a sense of elation within the company stemming from the early merchandise sales of the 39-year-old. As noted above, Dom doesn’t see Punk as a remotely close dream opponent for Penta. However, given their veteran instincts, they could actually pull off a decent match. Maybe they’ll cross each other’s paths down the road.
CM Punk sets sight on winning the 2025 Royal Rumble match
All CM Punk has done since plotting WWE return is silence his naysayers. After capping off 2024 on an extremely high note, The Best in the World is marching ahead. This week on Raw, the former AEW star officially declared himself for the 30-man Royal Rumble match.
He even addressed that John Cena is in contention too. After that, when he asked the production truck to hit his music, he got interrupted by Seth Rollins instead. The Visionary expressed massive disappointment in himself after losing to Punk on the Netflix premiere of Raw.
To right that wrong, Seth jumped on the bandwagon and announced he’s in the Rumble match too. The two were cut off by Drew McIntyre, who followed suit. However, the Scot lashed out at Rollins for not stopping Roman Reigns from regaining the Ula Fala.
