Charles Barkley has always been at odds with Donald Trump

Ever since Donald Trump returned to power, one of his long-standing critics, Charles Barkley, was among the first from the basketball world to congratulate him. The NBA legend understood that the votes from citizens across the country had voted for the real estate mogul, in a fair election.

Barkley though has been watching how the situation has been turning ever since Donald Trump returned to the White House. For starters, he cancelled a lot of the decisions his predecessor, Joe Biden, took during his time. At the same time, he signed a few executive orders that would change the lives of many.

The left leaning and neutral media houses critically dissected every move. But Fox News, a right-wing network, was on the support run. Every program televised was either supporting Trump’s moves. Barkley seems to be watching it all, as his words while covering NCAA March Madness confirmed it.

We’re supposed to be unbiased. What are we, Fox News?! What are we Fox News in here now? This ain’t Fox News, we don’t have to repeat everything the idiots say every day.

Charles Barkley said

This came about after the rest of the CBS Sports panel questioned his motives for rooting against his alma mater Auburn. He believes he was unbiased in his decision, as usually, he should be championing Auburn. This was a stray shot at Fox News for agreeing to, and repeating everything Trump says.

Charles Barkley and his problem with Fox News

Charles Barkley works for TNT, which is a sister concern of CNN under the Warner Bros Discovery umbrella. He has also worked at CNN when he hosted a talk show alongside Gayle King. This means, a neutral or right leaning viewer will instantly label his rhetoric as ‘biased’ towards the left.

He has criticized Donald Trump during his first presidency. But this criticism was regarding Fox News and how they do not follow an unbiased method while delivering news. Rupert Murdoch‘s conglomerate has always stuck towards his conservative ideologies.

Fox News journalists have in the past hammered people from other communities who have questioned the work of Donald Trump. LeBron James was famously told to ‘shut up and dribble’ by Fox News’ Laura Ingraham.

This is what the NBA Hall of Famer was referring to. Nowadays, Fox News is more direct in their attempts to support the President. They did not have the same methods when going full attack mode on former President Joe Biden. This is probably what made Barkley blurt out that rhetoric.

Charles Barkley vs Donald Trump

This does not mean Charles Barkley is not unbiased when it comes to his views on basketball. His negative view on a few teams has rubbed fans the wrong way. But when it comes to his political views, he has never wavered from his unconditional dissent towards Donald Trump.

Ever since the real estate magnate became the 45th President of the United States, the former Philadelphia 76ers legend was irritated with Trump’s decisions. He has called Trump out on several occasions, even lambasting his ideology when it comes to attacking certain individuals.

At the same time, he has criticized Donald Trump for his decisions that seemed to not benefit everyone equally. The President’s attacks on those who did not agree with him also irked the former league MVP. So much so, that he did not stop from showing his discontent time and time again.

His second tenure has just started. So far, he has not spoken out the way he has in the past. But there are nearly four years left, and if a situation does arise, expect the Round Mound of Rebound to be one of the loudest critics.
