“Doing my Black job!” Donald Trump gets slyly dissed by Bucks coach Doc Rivers
Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers took a sly dig at former American President Donald Trump during a pre-season game.
Donald Trump and Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers
Last season, seasoned championship-winning coach Doc Rivers was brought back into the NBA when the Milwaukee Bucks hired him as their head coach. He was hired midway through the season, which meant he could not fully set his plans in motion.
Injuries to key players and an overall lack of chemistry meant the Bucks underachieved. Now the 62-year-old has had a full offseason to prepare his players. On Sunday (October 6), Rivers took charge of his first pre-season game as the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Before the game, when he was asked about what excited him after having the team under his tutelage for a full off-season, he had a very interesting remark.
While Rivers ended up laughing at his own joke, it was all too clear what or exactly who that response was for. It was a sly dig at former American President Donald Trump. Rivers is a vocal Democrat and a supporter of its presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

In a debate between Trump and current US President Joe Biden a few weeks ago, Trump claimed that immigrants were taking over ‘Black jobs.’ Since then, many have used the quote to take shots at the former President.
USA Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles took a shot at that comment after winning a handful of gold medals at the Paris Olympics. Then, former first lady Michelle Obama used that quote to take a shot at Trump’s campaign.
Doc Rivers needs to find a way to make his top stars play together
Being the pre-season, Doc Rivers might have used the opportunity to take a dig at former American President Donald Trump. However, when the regular season starts, he might not have time to joke around as his career is on the line if the Milwaukee Bucks do not perform well.
Rivers has to figure out how the top stars of his team can play together and efficiently. Much of the Bucks’ problems last season came from a lack of chemistry between new trade recruit Damian Lillard and leading star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Rivers also needs to figure out how to unlock the offense when Lillard is on the floor.
With Lillard coming in, it stunted the production of the rest of the team. If those problems are fixed and the defense gets improved, the Milwaukee Bucks might raise some eyebrows in the 2024-25 NBA season. Almost everyone is sleeping on them, which could be a good thing as they go about fixing their game silently.
