Donald Trump gets ripped apart by Gregg Popovich
Gregg Popovich has never been one to hold back on his political opinions. He has been outspokenly critical of past and present governments and has had a strong stance on his political views. Ahead of the upcoming US National Elections, the Sant Antonio Spurs HC delivered a scathing rant about Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump.
The rant from Gregg Popovich came during the pre-game press conference of the Spurs game against the Houston Rockets. Coach Pop was heavily critical of Trump and his presidential campaign. The NBA community strongly favors the Democratic party. As such, Popovich slamming the ex-POTUS was nothing out of the ordinary.
Popovich didn’t stop there. His rant lasted over thirteen minutes, with each criticism more scathing than the last. The recently Hall of Fame inducted coach also highlighted the US Presidential Debate. He talked about Trump’s high-profile upbringing and his desire to ‘fit in’ and be accepted amongst the ‘inner circle.’

Former coach George Karl, two-time MVP Stephen Curry, and five-time champion Magic Johnson have all thrown their support for Kamala Harris. It appears the San Antonio Spurs coach also supports the current Vice President.
Gregg Popovich states his Presidential Nominee
It’s no surprise to see Gregg Popovich’s heavy endorsement of Kamala Harris. The 75-year-old coaching veteran has been vociferously against Donald Trump and his policies. He was a major advocate for the Democratic Party during the 2020 US National Elections as well.
In fact, Coach Pop has been one of Trump’s most scathing critics in all of American Sports ever since the Former President ran for election against Hillary Clinton in 2016. Popovich would go on in his 13-minute rant to cite his outspoken support for Kamala Harris.
While much of the focus remained on Popovich’s political opinions following his rant, the Spurs kept their focus on the game. Led by Victor Wembanyama’s 29 points, the Spurs managed to hand a 109-106 loss to the Houston Rockets. Much is expected of them this season as Wembanyama takes another step to superstardom.
