Donald Trump vowed to be ‘humanized’ by NBA champion Dwight Howard on one condition
During his 1st term, all the back-and-forth attacks between Donald Trump and those associated with the NBA proved they do not get along.

President Donald Trump and former NBA Champion Dwight Howard
The name Donald Trump and NBA players usually do not go well together. Time and again the league’s biggest names have clashed with the President of the United States. During his first stint, the clashed became a matter of public interest.
He often fell into the crosshairs of the likes of LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has been one of his most vocal critics and even shrugged off the ‘shut up and dribble’ controversy to stand up for the Black community. Others from the NBA have also criticized Trump in the past.
Donald Trump also did not back down from replying in the manner he felt was right. All of that has gone on to create a divide where the league and its fans do not see eye to eye with the policies the President works on. But one former player, Dwight Howard, wants to try and see how it is on the other side.
I want to talk to Donald Trump. I don’t think people understand it, the tough assignment of being a president, but also trying to carry your own morals. I’m not taking up for any president or anything like that in history. But I’m just of the understanding that it is a very hard job, it’s like being a king in your own land.

The NBA champion wants to figure out what Donald Trump faces as a President. He wants to know how the 47th President goes about his task despite all the trials and tribulations. Therefore, he told Front Office Sports that it is his dream to have the 78-year-old as a guest on his podcast.
Dwight Howard might incur the wrath of NBA stars
At the start of that clip, Dwight Howard does say that his choice of dream podcast guest might ruffle some feathers. He knows many will shake their heads, but his interest is to understand the human side of Donald Trump.
But this might not sit well with anyone in the NBA. If it is current players, there are several who are open about their political beliefs. They have not appreciated how Donald Trump’s first tenure panned out. Now they are bracing for what might come in his second tenure.
On top of that, several former players have spoken out against the President. All of that could result in them ghosting Howard once this podcast does take place. They might not want to work with him even if the podcast does not discuss anything regarding politics.
NBA players and coaches do not like Donald Trump
Among current players, LeBron James might be Donald Trump’s most vocal critic. But he is not the only one who has spoken up. Paris Olympics teammate Stephen Curry, one of the most soft-spoken athletes in the world also did not stop from speaking out.
His Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has openly trolled Trump while promoting his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris. Even after Trump won, Kerr was defiant, and his words suggested he was not happy with the outcome of the elections.
San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is another of the President’s harshest critics. His reaction during a game knowing Trump won in his first term gave enough evidence on how he felt about the situation.
Last but not the least, there is Hall of Famer Charles Barkley. He is already well known for being outspoken. On top of that, he does not mind starting beef with anyone, unless they are someone who he truly admires.
In Donald Trump’s case, Charles Barkley never stopped at criticizing him during his first tenure. He even went to the extent of labeling the real estate magnate as someone who rubs him the wrong way. So far in his second tenure, Barkley has not spoken up. But that could change depending on how the days unfold.
