Former USA president and the current Republican Party candidate, Donald Trump as previously reported was at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600. It was the first time in the history of the sport, a former/sitting president ever attended the longest race in the NASCAR calander.

Richrd Childress Racing’s Hall of Fame owner, Richard Childress, was seen alongside Donald Trump most of time. He got into the RCR pit-box, welcomed by the Cheers of fans in attendance. Trump also took photos with Austin Dillon and his family, the Grandson of Childress and the No:3 Chevy driver, ahead of the race.

He was seen watching the race from not just the pit-box, but also the VIP stands and the rooftop of the track as well. Trump attended the race as part of his election campaign against current president Joe Biden. The last time, Trump attended a NASCAR race was in 2020, when he was still the president, at the Daytona 500.

It isn’t the first Motor Racing championship the Trump has attended in the 2024 season so far.  He was at the Formula One Miami GP, as the special guest of McLaren Racing team. Donald Trump got a welcome similar to the one he got Charlotte at Miami.

Donald Trump’s visit didn’t spoil Kyle Larson’s double

One of the biggest concerns the NASCAR fans had coming into the race week was Kyle Larson missing out on the Coke 600 because of Donald Trump’s presence. This is because of the fact that Kyle Larson was attempting the Double and Trump’s security might have messed his travelling plans.

But nothing such happened, as there wasn’t any such air-space restriction that could delay Larson getting from the Charlotte Airport to the track in a helicopter. Larson was able to fly back to the track and take over the No:5 car mid-race.

But unfortunately, a rain-delay has again put a pause of the Coke 600 and Larson’s attempt to get upfront and have a get finish. He is already disappointed by the P18 at the Indy 500 and this might lead to more disappointment.
