Last Friday, former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson stepped into the boxing ring to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in one of the most highly anticipated matchups. Netflix secured the streaming rights to the event; however, they didn’t expect the massive viewership the event would have.

Fans tuning in experienced significant lagging issues with the stream, leading to widespread frustration among fans. One of those frustrated fans was the 47th elected U.S. President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. Amid streaming frustration, they found a surprising savior in former NFL star Antonio Brown, who took it upon himself to live-stream the match on his social media.

Brown provided a live stream of the thrilling boxing match, causing fans including Trump Jr. to head to his X account to watch quickly. Nearly six million viewers enjoyed the match through AB’s official account. Being a boxing fan himself, he understood the sentiments of fans who were frustrated with the technical issues on Netflix, and fans applauded him for that.

Antonio Brown seeks role in Donald Trump’s administration

The four-time All-Pro wide receiver has been one of the biggest supporters of the Republican leader throughout his election campaign. Not only he has endorsed Trump but also provided a helping hand in campaigning at a rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. And with his victory over Kamala Harris in the presidential election, Brown intends to be more than a loyal supporter

Brown reportedly applied to be a part of Trump’s administration in his second reign in the United States. He wants to be his advisor on matters concerning the athletes contributing to their local communities.

We, as athletes, can do so much for the communities we came from, including being role models for the next generation & giving back.

Although fans didn’t respond quite positively to Brown’s future plans in politics, his former teammate Le’Veon Bell expressed his confidence in the seven-time Pro Bowler’s capability to handle the role better than anyone else.
