All-time great power-forwards Kevin Garnett and arguably one of the greatest players of all time LeBron James had several important battles with each other in their career. While Garnett retired from the game in 2016, James is playing in a record-breaking 23rd season in the NBA. It is a number no other player has achieved in league history.
After missing the first 14 games of the 2025-26 campaign due to sciatica nerve issues, LeBron James made his return against the Utah Jazz on November 18. The Los Angeles Lakers went 10-4 during his absence and were led by MVP candidate Luka Doncic and one of the stories of the season for the Lakers, Austin Reaves.
Since his season-debut, James has made a slow start to his 23rd season by his lofty standards. The four-time NBA Champion is currently averaging 20.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 7.1 assists. But over the last five games, James has started to play like his old self again and is averaging 27.6 points.
Promising and welcome signs are visible ahead for the Lakers. However, Doncic suffered an injury in their recent loss to the Los Angeles Clippers while Reaves has missed their last three games.
2008 NBA Champion with the Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett was recently in the headlines as he made his return to the Minnesota Timberwolves after nearly a decade in a new role. The former MVP will also get his much-awaited jersey retirement ceremony in the next two years.
Speaking on his KG World Certified show, Garnett said fans shouldn’t vote for James to be an All-Star because he isn’t going to play in the game.
Bron does not want to play in the All-Star game. So listen, all you people out there that’s going to vote for Bron, save your vote. He didn’t play in it last year. Why would you expect him to play this year? Listen, Bron is not playing in the game.

Garnett does make a valid point because James is at a different point of his career at this point of time. Irrespective of Garnett’s message to the fans, the 21-time NBA All-Star will be most likely be nominated once again.
LeBron James speaks on Chris Paul’s Clippers exit
The entire NBA world was shocked when veteran Chris Paul was cut-off from the Clippers in his second stint at the club. The decision was received poorly by the fans because of what Paul had achieved with the franchise. To make the matters worse, the 40-year-old had announced that the 2025-26 campaign would be the final chapter of his illustrious career.

While Paul was not a part of the Clippers win over the Lakers on Saturday night, it did not stop a journalist from asking James about what he felt about Paul’s abrupt exit. The four-time champion refused to take a side and noted that it was none of his business.
No, I haven’t talked to him. It’s not for me to comment on, to be honest. It’s none of my business.

Many former players have shared their opinions about the whole fiasco surrounding Paul and the Clippers. However, ‘King James’ refused to make any comments as he remains focused on the Lakers and the season ahead.
James Harden believes LeBron James’ NBA scoring record is unbreakable
While James Harden may have never lifted an NBA Championship in his career, it does not take away from the fact that ‘The Beard’ is one of the greatest scorers to ever play the game.
The 36-year-old has broken several scoring records throughout his career, especially during his time with the Houston Rockets. This year, he did so once again when he surpassed Carmelo Anthony to enter into the top-10 list for most points scored in the NBA.
The 2018 League-MVP is still averaging 25.8 points per game this season at 36 but is not the scorer he once was. Harden was asked about what it was like joining James on the list.
Don’t even say LeBron James in this conversation. That record, nobody is catching that.

Harden may be right as it is highly unlikely that anyone would be able to break James’ scoring record as he has surpassed 42,000 points. Moreover, ‘King James’ is 4000 points above second-placed Kareem-Abdul Jabbar. The closest active player at the moment is Kevin Durant who is more than 11,000 points behind the Lakers superstar.
