Minnesota Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo lashed out at his former head coach and others during a preseason game against the New York Knicks.

The Minnesota Timberwolves recently acquired talented player Donte DiVincenzo from the New York Knicks in a trade deal. The Timberwolves had to part ways with their promising star Karl-Anthony Towns as he went to the Knicks in part of the deal, which saw them also acquire Knicks’ star defender Julius Randle.
However, it is DiVincenzo that has been garnering widespread attention from the NBA community after the Timberwolves vs Knicks’ preseason matchup on Sunday (October 13). During the game, DiVincenzo took some time to remind the Knicks’ head coach Tom Thibodeau what he had lost.
DiVincenzo took a free throw for the Timberwolves and made the hoop. he then turned to Thibodeau and Co. and made his point.

This showcased a new beef between DiVincenzo and his former team. Not only that, after the game, DiVincenzo was also involved in a heated exchange with Knicks star Jalen Brunson‘s father, Rick Brunson, who is the assistant coach for the Knicks. Brunson Sr. went to confront DiVincenzo regarding his comments. However, the 277-year-old was not having it, which garnered a furious reaction from Brunson Sr.
NBA insider revealed Donte DiVincenzo was not a big fan of reduced role with the Knicks
Fans of the New York Knicks were thrilled with the thought of the Villanova brothers teaming up. However, it was not meant to be. Despite not intending to part ways with Donte DiVincenzo, the Knicks used him in the trade package that brought Karl-Anthony Towns from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
NBA insider Ian Begley stated that DiVincenzo ‘was not a big fan’ of playing a reduced role with the Knicks. Hence, the move to the Timberwolves might have come as a blessing for the former Villanova star.

“DiVincenzo was probably going to be coming off the bench this season. Bridges would likely have taken his spot in the starting lineup. I can say confidently that… pic.twitter.com/FFOX0Jn2Tk
DiVincenzo had a tremendous season last year. He went from a bench player to a starter under head coach Tom Thibodeau. He made 63 starts, the second most of his career. The NBA star set personal bests in various statistical categories.
This includes minutes featured per game (29.1), scoring average (15.5 points), and shooting three-pointers percentage (40.1%). Hence, it will be intriguing to watch how he performs with his new side in the upcoming NBA season.
