The Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef has occupied pop culture for the better half of this year. Ever since the rappers started beefing earlier this year, the billboard-topping artists have exchanged nine diss tracks, each more venomous than the last.
After divisive stances across mainstream media surrounding the beef, LeBron James’ wife, Savannah James, seems to have picked her side in the beef. Lamar has outspokenly been chosen as the public winner of the hostile beef between him and Drake.
Lamar’s commercial-friendly diss Not Like Us has dominated the charts and made history with its success. Now, it seems like Savannah and LeBron James have also picked their sides in the beef after Savannah’s latest post featuring Lamar’s chart-topping single.
Savannah took to Instagram to share LeBron’s post featuring the entire James family after their historic milestone. In her story, she used Lamar’s chart-topping single as the music, an odd choice given the context.
The rapper had publicly called for NBA players Stephen Curry and LeBron James to keep their families away from Drake, terming the Canadian rapper a predator in his diss ‘Meet the Grahams. With her post, it seems like Savannah may have sent a message to Drake about her side.
For his part, Drake has been a major LeBron fan in the past. The Canadian rapper has also had a tattoo of the Lakers star inked on himself. However, following clips of LeBron dancing to ‘Not Like Us’ at a club, Drake recently unfollowed James on Instagram. It’s unclear whether the James family and Drake have explicit beef, but we know whose side Savannah James is on for sure.

The internet never misses out on reacting to drama. As soon as hip-hop and basketball fans saw Savannah James’ post with the Kendrick Lamar song, they took to social media platform X to share their thoughts.
Many fans speculated that Savannah’s dislike for Drake comes from him having had tight connections with LeBron James. Others also speculated that perhaps Savannah James was just trying to claim her family is different from others based on the title of ‘Not Like Us.’

It seems like there is no definitive end in sight for the Drake-Kendrick beef. But with pop culture decidedly siding with Kendrick Lamar for a major chunk of the beef, it seems like the West Coast rapper has easily come out on top. With Drake’s close friends, LeBron James, and the James family seemingly taking sides as well, it seems evident that Drake may have lost his charm in the industry.
