LeBron James and Drake’s friendship over? Rapper’s latest social media engagement gives clues
NBA legend LeBron James and Canadian rapper Drake's friendship has reportedly ended, going by the latter's social media activity.
Drake and LeBron James
Basketball legend LeBron James and world-famous rapper Drake have made the headlines lately. James and Drake shared a good bond, with each talking highly about the other. However, that bond seems to be, if Drake’s recent social media activity is anything to go by. He has unfollowed James on Instagram, as per reports.
Drake, one of the biggest names in hip-hop and a die-hard basketball lover, thought of himself as a friend of Lakers star James. However, after Drake unfollowed the four-time NBA champion on social media, fans began reassessing what they knew about the pair’s bond.
James attended Kendrick Lamar‘s concert back in June, which could be a cause of their rift. Drake is involved in a longstanding tussle with American rapper Kendrick. In many diss tracks, the rappers were attempting to outdo one another, though many seemed to agree that Kendrick came out on top. Thus, James attending Kendrick’s concert might have caused trouble in his friendship with Drake.
It has been speculated that this must have resulted in the Candian unfollowing the NBA legend. That being said, neither party has spoken about this in public yet. It will be intriguing to watch how this situation unfolds in the upcoming days/weeks.
LeBron James was spotted at Kendrick Lamar’s concert in June
LeBron James has been pulled into the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar because he is friends with both musicians. Despite being reportedly closer to Drake, a widely-shared recent image showed James at Kendrick’s concert in Los Angeles in June. This has possibly resulted in Drake unfollowing the NBA star on social media.
James not only attended Kendrick’s concert in June but was also spotted dancing to Lamar’s diss track with his wife Savannah James. James could be seen swaying to the music in a fan-captured video, while his wife was spotted dancing to the diss track in another video. Kendrick dropped the infamous song when his feud with Drake escalated from casual jabs to a full-on brawl.
To give the four-time NBA champion his due, he has praised both rappers for transforming their rivalry into amazing music. However, Drake has reportedly not taken this well. It is unclear if either party will decide to discuss this issue in public at some point in the future.
