NBA legend LeBron James has probably had one of the best careers as a professional basketball player. He has won almost everything on offer and is still playing the sport with the same winning mentality. Going into his 22nd NBA season, James is looking to ‘enjoy the moment’ and take whatever comes his way.

Talking to the media following the Los Angeles Lakers’ first day of practice, LeBron James believes that whatever he accomplishes in his basketball career going forward is simply “extra credit” for him. He also said that he was also looking forward to sharing the court with his son, Bronny James.

Is there anything left for me to accomplish as a basketball player? … No, everything else is extra credit. I’ll take it, I’ll take it though. I love it. I love what I do. But, I don’t need to. No. I got everything.

James, a 20-time All-Star, has collected four NBA titles, four MVPs in the Finals, four shooting titles, and two assists titles in his career. He has an unmatched career span and is the all-time highest scorer in the NBA. It remains to be seen how the 39-year-old enjoys the final years of his career.

Entering his 22nd NBA season, LeBron James is showing no signs of slowing down. The Los Angeles Lakers legend has fans pumped up with his recent comments. James was the star for Team USA at the Paris Olympics, with averages of 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game.

At my age, the miles that I have, and to be able to play at the level I played at, it gave me like … a sense of, ‘Okay, I do have a lot in the tank, a lot, and I can help a big part of a team win the ultimate whatever if it’s gold or if it’s a Larry O’Brien trophy or whatever the case may be. I can still get it done.’

James remains capable of playing at a high level for a few more years, which is outrageous considering he is approaching his 22nd year in the NBA. He averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game for the Lakers in 2023-24, and can very well repeat those stats next season.
