Bronny and LeBron James could share the court soon

LeBron James may soon see his dream of playing alongside his eldest son, Bronny, come true. While Bronny isn’t an exact replica of his iconic father, their basketball skills show undeniable similarities. LeBron himself recounted how he noticed Bronny’s extraordinary talent as early as age five, sharing the story with the media.

He told this story when he sat alongside Bronny while being interviewed by Spectrum TV as part of the media rounds for the Los Angeles Lakers’ media day. LeBron James asserted that his son had the potential to stand out among his peers and even though his wife Savannah told him to take it easy on the expectations, his draft into the NBA convinced her of what he said years ago.

He grabbed a rebound, drove coast-to-coast through a couple of kids and layed it up. I looked over at his mom and said, ‘He special.’ She was like, ‘What? He’s 5 years old. What are you talking about?’ I’m like, ‘I’ve seen this before. I know.’

From an early age, LeBron “King” James envisioned greatness for his son, much like the ambition that fueled his own journey to becoming one of the greatest players in NBA history. While Bronny may never match his father’s remarkable achievements—four NBA championships and four MVP awards—he has already defied the odds by being drafted, an accomplishment many thought impossible.

As the new season approaches, LBJ’s primary focus, apart from helping the Lakers back to title contention, will be on Bronny and helping him succeed. And it would be a mind-blowing occasion when they finally share the court together on an NBA opening night.

Bronny James to play on Lakers NBA opening night, NBA insider says

The new season begins in less than a month’s time, but it seems Bronny James is not expected to be ever present in the squad. However, Shams Charania in a recent interview on the Pat McAfee Show revealed that Bronny will play during the opening week and see extended minutes throughout the season.

LeBron James and Bronny James, we saw that duo yesterday… I would expect them to make their debut together in the opening week of the NBA season, possibly on opening night, from what I’ve been told.

It’s normal for most second-round picks to spend their rookie year in the G-League, but there’s a strong possibility that Bronny’s case might be different as he has a real shot at earning a spot in the Lakers’ rotation, as many believe it is due to his unique situation and the influence of his father, LeBron James.

His road to the NBA has been far from smooth as he had an average freshman season at USC, where he averaged 4.8 points per game, and also faced a medical scare last summer. However, with his dad’s backing and the help of agent Rich Paul, he was selected by the Lakers with the 55th pick, setting up the potential for the first active father-son duo in NBA history.
