Canadian rapper Drake is betting on Taylor Fritz to beat World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and win the US Open final. The match is scheduled to start on Sunday (September 8) and Sinner will enter the game as the favorite, but in spite of that, Drake took a risk and bet $210000 on home favorite Fritz winning his first Grand Slam title.

The 37-year-old, however, doesn’t have a decent record, but he still hasn’t stopped and continues to be a ‘daring’ better. Drake, who has placed bets on the biggest sporting matches, decided to post a hilarious story on Instagram.

Continuing my record as the most daring sports better in history with the most losses going underdog.

En route to reaching his first Grand Slam final, Fritz overcame compatriot Frances Tiafoe in five sets in the semifinals. Sinner, who also made it to his first final at Flushing Meadows, easily defeated Jack Draper in straight sets in the last four. Sinner dropped two sets while Fritz played a five-setter and two four-setters.

Taylor Fritz is confident of playing good tennis against Jannik Sinner

Taylor Fritz has met Jannik Sinner twice on the ATP Tour, at the Indian Wells Masters in 2021 and 2023, with both winning a match each. After beating Frances Tiafoe, Fritz talked about the possibility of him winning his first Grand Slam title.

I think I’ve always played well against Jannik. I think we’re 1 and 1. It’s been a while since we played, but last time, he got me in three at Indian Wells. I don’t know, he strikes, he hits the ball big, he’s like a very strong ball striker, but I feel like I always hit the ball really well off of his ball.
Taylor Fritz said at a press conference

Sinner has five titles already this year, including the Australian Open (his first major trophy). The 23-year-old has become the first Italian man to reach the US Open final. He also has a 5-0 record in tour-level finals this season.

Fritz, on the other hand, has won the Eastbourne International and the Delray Beach Open. The 26-year-old will become the first American man since Andy Roddick in 2003 if he wins the US Open. He lost the four Grand Slam quarterfinals he played before reaching his maiden major summit clash.
