Drake has placed another massive wager, this time backing Jannik Sinner to win the US Open. The rapper bet $300,000 on the world No. 1, posting the slip on social media. If Sinner captures his fifth Grand Slam title and second crown in New York, the payout would be $507,000.

The Canadian star is well known for his high-stakes gambling, and his picks often draw attention. Fans frequently refer to the “Drake Curse” because many of his bets end in defeat. One example came last year when he lost $210,000 after Taylor Fritz fell to Sinner in the 2024 US Open final.

Drake has had mixed results betting on tennis. A site tracking his public wagers shows he is still down around $115,000 on the sport. He cut some of his losses earlier this year by correctly predicting Sinner’s victory in the Australian Open final.

Sinner has reached the last eight in New York after a commanding win over Alexander Bublik. The 24-year-old will now face compatriot Lorenzo Musetti in the quarterfinals. Oddsmakers have him as the favorite, and Drake will be hoping his gamble finally pays off.

Jannik Sinner wanted revenge against Alexander Bublik

Jannik Sinner stepped onto Arthur Ashe Stadium on Monday night with a different aura. Before the match even began, he gave a glimpse of his mindset. Facing Alexander Bublik, the last player to beat him in a completed match back in June at Halle, the Italian hinted that this was personal.

In a pre-match conversation with Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Sinner ended by saying: “Now it’s time for revenge.” The words carried no smile or humor, only cold intent. When the match started, it was clear he meant every bit of it.

From the very first game, Sinner dominated a less than fully fit Bublik. The Kazakh had not been broken once in 59 service games during the tournament, yet Sinner needed just two minutes to snap that streak. Once in control, he showed no hesitation and never allowed Bublik back into the contest.

This ruthless performance came after a shaky outing in the previous round against Denis Shapovalov. Many thought Sinner might be vulnerable, but instead he produced one of his sharpest displays. The win sent a clear message that he remains in command of his US Open campaign.

Jannik Sinner breaks Novak Djokovic’s record at the US Open

World No.1 Jannik Sinner produced a ruthless performance to crush world No. 24 Alexander Bublik at the 2025 US Open. The Italian raced to a 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 victory in the fourth round, leaving no doubt about his form. Many expected Bublik’s big serve to trouble him, but the contest was completely one-sided.

Bublik had not lost serve in his previous three matches against Marin Cilic, Tristan Schoolkate, and Tommy Paul. Against Sinner, however, he was broken eight times in 11 service games. The world No. 1 faced just one break point himself and erased it with ease. The dominant win sealed his place in the quarterfinals.

With that result, Sinner set a new milestone in men’s tennis. At 24 years and eight days, he became the youngest player to reach the quarterfinals of all four majors in back-to-back seasons, surpassing Novak Djokovic’s mark from 2011. The achievement highlights Sinner’s consistency across all surfaces.

His victory also continued a remarkable run of results. Since the start of 2024, he has collected titles at the Australian Open, US Open, and Wimbledon, while also reaching the French Open final earlier this year. The demolition of Bublik was historic too, making him the first player since Djokovic in 2015 to win a second-week US Open match while conceding three or fewer games.
