Jack Draper vs Jannik Sinner: Preview
Jannik Sinner is being touted as the next big thing in tennis. The young sensation played some high-quality tennis in the French Open 2021. World No. 19 progressed into the fourth round of the marquee tournament where his journey was halted by the ‘King of Clay.’
Moreover, just a couple of years back, Sinner was not even in the top 200, and now he has made his way into the top 20s. He was stretched to the fifth set in the first-round clash in the French Open by Pierre-Hugues Herbert, but his impressive counter-attack bailed him out.
Seeded three in the Queen’s championship, Sinner is having a breakthrough season. He started off his season with a title run at the ATP Melbourne and has continued his great form since then. He would have to go past Jack Draper in order to move into the next round.
On the other hand, 19-year-old Jack Draper, who is not even in the top 300 as far as world rankings are concerned, would have to be at his absolute best to knock Sinner out. He has shown glipses of his class in the past. As a junior player, Draper reached the final at the 2018 Wimbledon. Although, he hasn’t been in great form recently.
Jack Draper vs Jannik Sinner: Head to Head
These two players will face each other for the very first time.
Jack Draper vs Jannik Sinner: Prediction
Both the teenagers are extremely talented, however, Sinner has been absolutely immaculate. There is no denying that Jannik Sinner impressed everyone with his performance in the French Open and he would be a very difficult man to defeat for Draper.
Jack Draper on the other hand retired in the very first round in the Miami Open. He lost the first set to Mikhail Kukushin and didn’t continue after that. Needless to say, odds are overwhelmingly in the favor of Jannik Sinner.
Prediction: Jannik Sinner to win in straight sets.
