Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors are on a path to redemption this year. The Dubs failed to qualify for the playoffs last season, marking only the second time in the last decade that the Warriors did not qualify. Over the offseason, the Warriors have made some major changes to their team and coaching staff. However, it seems like the team’s hunger to win this season is catching up to veterans like Green.

The Warriors veteran joined Sirius XM Radio to talk about the Dubs season ahead of their Wednesday night season opener. Draymond Green was positive about the camp but admitted that the reignited hunger within the team had taken its toll on him.

The 34-year-old Dubs star revealed that the team’s coaches are ‘annoying the hell’ out of Green and the rest of the team.

Coaches are annoying right now, and that to me is a sign of hunger. Like they’re annoying the hell out of us right now and I have zero problems admitting that.

Draymond Green stated during an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio

However, that was not the end of what Draymond Green said. The former DPOY went on to say that he appreciated the ‘hunger’ that the team had. After missing the playoffs last season, the coaching staff, led by Steve Kerr, seems to have found a reinvigorated passion for the game, which they seem to be instilling into the players.

When you walk away from the annoyance you say, man, this is great, this is amazing, they need to annoy us. They’re working us crazy right now, but we need that, because that means they’re hungry too. So, there’s a hunger flying around this building that I haven’t seen in many years.

Draymond Green added

As the Dubs season draws closer, it seems like the coaches are on the right track with the new look, Warriors. But is the team ready?

Draymond Green reveals how the Warriors moved on from Klay Thompson

After Klay Thompson departed from the Golden State Warriors in the offseason, the first pillar of the Golden Dynasty fell apart. The team spent a large chunk of the summer trying to replace the sharpshooting capability of Thompson. As the Warriors looked to fill that void, Draymond Green revealed what allowed the team to mentally accept the departure of the 4x Champion.

Training camp almost felt, going to Hawaii almost felt like, it was the end of that chapter. And that’s what we needed.

Draymond Green stated during his interview with Rob Perez and Sarak Kustok

Green mentioned that the Warriors training camp in Hawaii felt like the rightful end to the Klay Thompson chapter with the Dubs. Being away from the Chase Center and its practice facility allowed the Warriors to come to terms with their fresh look heading into the 2024-25 season.

The team will remain in high spirits as they gained a number of new faces during the offseason, adding youth and shooting to a team that looked ‘old’ and ‘slow’ last season. The Golden State Warriors will kick off their regular season on Wednesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Chase Center.
