Draymond Green admitted that Luka Doncic was 'foul-hunting' against Karl Anthony Towns
Luka Doncic‘s performance in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals has been controversial for multiple reasons. The star’s underwhelming shooting and poor performance in clutch moments did not sit well with fans. However, besides that, Doncic also received some backlash for his ‘foul-hunting’ against Karl-Anthony Towns.
During a play, Luka Doncic was believed to have fouled Karl-Anthony Towns on purpose as the center was under foul trouble. The clip of the particular play went viral as many started debating about the call and Doncic’s intentions. During an episode of his podcast, Draymond Green decided to weigh in on the topic. The Warriors’ forward admitted that Doncic was foul-hunting.
Despite Doncic searching for fouls, Green added that the 25-year-old is a tough shot-maker. But Green also stated that KAT was the one responsible for the foul. According to Green, the Timberwolves’ center leaned forward more than necessary which left no choice for the referee, Scott Foster.
Fortunately, Towns’ absence did not affect the Minnesota Timberwolves as the team was able to close out the game. KAT’s contribution before his exit was enough for the team to take the win and avoid a sweep against the Dallas Mavericks.
NBA stated that the last foul on Luka Doncic was a wrong call
With his foul hunting, Doncic also received a lot of criticism for missing an essential free throw in the last seconds. With less than 14 seconds left in the game, Doncic made an unreal three-pointer which made it to a one-possession game and he was also fouled on the play.
But the Slovenian missed the ‘and one’ which worked in the Timberwolves’ favor. However, through the NBA’s last two-minute report for Game 4, the league announced that the three-pointer never should have counted. The guard should have granted two free throws instead.
Since MIN is in the penalty, the basket should have been wiped and Doncic should have taken two free throws.NBA’s last 2-minute report
This call would have made the Timberwolves’ win even easier as it would have allowed Doncic to only score two points instead of four. It seems as if the loss was inevitable for the Mavericks as the series has gone to Game 5.
