Draymond Green is helping the Golden State Warriors lead the Bay Area charge as one of the best sports cities in the country, after the likes of Joe Montana and Jerry Rice re-emphasized the city’s trend of winning major championships.
He, Stephen Curry, along with Klay Thompson, for a brief time, Kevin Durant powered the Warriors to four NBA championships, and holds the record for the most wins in a season.
They started winning after the San Francisco Giants won their last World Series in 2014. Since then, the Warriors have brought the spotlight back to the city, even though the San Francisco 49ers have been trying.
During this run, the city has produced many sporting legends, some of whom ended up becoming the biggest superstars in sports history. When George Kittle asked Green to list the all-time top five Bay Area greats, he said:
Steph Curry is No. 1. I’m going to go Joe Montana No. 2, Jerry Rice No. 3. These guys are absolute legends. No. 4 would be Chris Mullin. I would say my 5th, I would go Marshawn Lynch.

The Warriors star added that even though Lynch did not have his best days with a Bay Area team, his cultural impact is second to none, and that is why he included him in the list.

After saying this, the 49ers tight end reminded Draymond Green that he missed Giants great Barry Bonds. He believes the Warriors star should look up Bonds’ highlights as motivation before an NBA game.
George Kittle quizzes Draymond Green over his football experience
After talking about the Bay Area greats on Kittle Things, host George Kittle and his wife, Claire Kittle, asked Draymond Green about his experience playing football in college.

Where I would have excelled most at tight end was actually, if they threw me the ball… I was a glorified right tackle.
Draymond Green replied
The 6′ 6″ forward went on to reveal that he was just a big body on the offensive line for the Michigan State Spartans. Eventually, his big physique came into effect as a defensive end.

Green revealed that he did get a few sacks, but he understood his future lay in basketball, not football. However, he still loves the game and follows it ardently. They even got around to talking about how Green finds some NFL players not sticking to basics while playing positions he had experience in.
George Kittle and the 49ers quietly surging towards the playoffs
George Kittle and his wife took to their podcast, possibly after he and his San Francisco 49ers won their Week 15 game against the league-low Tennessee Titans. In a season where they should have been contending for the Super Bowl in their own stadium, injuries to key players have seemingly dampened those hopes.
Despite those losses, Kittle and his teammates have taken advantage of a weak mid-season schedule and put together a string of wins. They will face stronger opposition in their remaining three games, but so far, they are hopeful of reaching the playoffs.
Unless they lose all their remaining games, there is a chance that the 49ers will enter the playoffs at least as a Wild Card. From then on, how they overcome their roster deficiencies will go on to determine how far they go.
Amidst all the hoopla about some big-name team falling out of contention, and some new entrants turning the tables, the Bay Area franchise is quietly going about its business, winning games when it matters. The 49ers could end up surprising a few with their mix of experience and youth.
