Warriors great Draymond Green did not mince his words after watching Karl-Anthony Towns 'guard' Nikola Jokic.

The New York Knicks recently played against the Denver Nuggets in a tough matchup and won by 122-112. Despite winning the game, Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns had a poor night according to his standards. Also, he was tasked with guarding one of the best NBA players, Nikola Jokic. KAT did not live up to expectations. Regarding this, Golden State Warriors great Draymond Green offered his take.
Without Green as a leader and defensive presence, the Warriors dynasty might not have won four titles. Green made some unwarranted remarks against Karl-Anthony Towns, the center for the New York Knicks, on social media, criticizing the All-Star big’s mentality and defensive play despite knowing what it takes to win.
KAT in a full front on Joker… even if you win the game it don’t matter. You will never hold the respect from an opponent to win at the highest level… pride must make you sit down and guard, even if you give up 40… Winning is a mindset, and in order to win a championship…

KAT scored 14 points (6-12 FG, 10 rebounds, and five assists) in a lackluster performance against the Nuggets. He struggled versus Nikola Jokic in the game and finished -1 in the 10-point victory. Jokic finished the game with 17 points (6-15 FG), six rebounds, and six assists, but he didn’t have a particularly strong night either. Consequently, the Knicks prevailed 122-112.
Towns was recently selected as an Eastern Conference All-Star starter after averaging 24.6 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists during the season. At this point, Green’s Warriors run the risk of missing the playoffs completely. Also, Green once infamously said that the Knicks ‘will never win the NBA title’. It’s unfair to spite Towns during one of his best seasons on a winning team, even though Green’s history as a winner is undeniable.
Nikola Jokic makes ‘bold’ Knicks admission
The Knicks haven’t advanced to the Conference finals since 2000 and haven’t taken home the championship since 1973. For the first time since 1975, the Knicks had two players selected as All-Star starters. Thanks to the acquisition of Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson. According to their rival, Nikola Jokic, the Knicks are stocked up for a run this summer.

Despite KAT’s quiet night, the Knicks are real challengers and will win this game. With Anthony-Towns and Brunson as their two top scorers, they clearly have the firepower to win it all. Even though the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers are formidable opponents, it is not unthinkable that the Knicks may win a championship.
