Drew McIntyre went back to winning ways on SmackDown. He made light work of Jimmy Uso, who’d shockingly pinned the Scot a couple of weeks ago. After getting the job done, the 39-year-old intended to double down on Uso. However, Drew got rocked by Damian Priest from behind. The Street King started unloading on McIntyre with authority.

But why did Priest jump Drew like that? The former’s advances were a knee-jerk reaction to McIntyre’s sneak attack on him in the beginning of the episode. Somewhat later, Byron Saxton tried to pick Drew’s mind on why he blindsided El Campeon. After being questioned over his allegedly unprovoked deeds, The Scottish Psychopath touched on what transpired at the Elimination Chamber.

Drew claimed that he would’ve prevented millions of hearts from being broken by eliminating John Cena inside the chamber if it wasn’t for Damian rolling him up. Not only did the former Judgment Day member mess up McIntyre’s devious plans for Cena, but he also cost the Scotsman his only chance to return to the world title picture en route to WrestleMania 41.

As one can pick it up, WWE hasn’t amended its direction for Drew. Despite the backlash from fans, the company is seemingly moving ahead with full steam to book McIntyre in a non-title feud against Damian Priest at WrestleMania 41.

Many believe it’s a boilerplate effort from WWE’s side. A source previously described McIntyre vs. Priest as a nothing match. The Chosen One was reportedly unhappy with it but seems as if the situation is irrevocable now.

Drew McIntyre trolled CM Punk after his crash out on Raw

On Raw this past Monday, CM Punk cut one of the most awe-inspiring promos of his career. In the process, he blasted The Rock and John Cena and called them out for being frauds. Poking his nose into the matter, Drew McIntyre took a dig at his great rival Punk.

The Ayr-born wrestler leveraged Rock’s 14-year-old post aimed at Punk, in which The Great One had justified his WrestleMania main eventer status over guys like The Best in the World. McIntyre asserted that Rock’s assessment of Punk still holds true.

Even though Drew’s differences with Punk culminated in an epic trilogy of matches last year, they continue to despise each other. While the Scot’s path to WrestleMania seems mapped out, Punk is in a fix. He’ll face Seth Rollins in a steel cage match on the upcoming edition of Raw.

There’s some speculation that Roman Reigns might finally make his return to screw up the MSG main event. The OTC has been off TV since the Royal Rumble. At the PLE, he and Rollins were simultaneously eliminated from the match by Punk. They’re rumored to have a triple threat showdown at WrestleMania 41.
