On tonight’s SmackDown in San Jose, two of the blue brand’s most feared men, viz., Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu, will battle it out one-on-one. Just hours before they collide, the Scot has posted a warning shot for the ‘Samoan Werewolf’. Taking to X, McIntyre said he doesn’t give up no matter what, and if someone calls it his stubbornness, then so be it.
The Ayr-born wrestler addressed Fatu as the latest brick wall pattern in front of him. McIntyre even adjudged him as one of the toughest men on the current WWE roster before talking about their singles encounter on SmackDown. The former 3MB member, however, claimed that it wouldn’t have happened had Fatu not stuck his nose in McIntyre’s business three weeks ago.
Back then, the former US Champion interrupted McIntyre’s promo in which he was lamenting over his Wrestlepalooza loss to Cody Rhodes, alleging the match referee of unfair officiating. The ex-enforcer of Solo Sikoa reprimanded the Scot for whining all the time and blaming others for self-wrongdoings.
The trash talk went haywire when things got physical, with McIntyre hitting Fatu with a Glasgow kiss and ending up getting laid out by a super kick from the former NWA Champion.

‘The Chosen One’ noted in the aforementioned video on X that he wasn’t at 100% with a cast on his right leg. McIntyre then said that despite the negatives, he saw a lot of himself in Fatu. He flew to Perth last Friday to ambush the Anoa’i clan wrestler and added he’s sure that Fatu would’ve pretty much done the same thing if it were the other way around. McIntyre eventually segued into Fatu’s relatives, whom the fans better know as the Bloodline in WWE.
‘The Scottish Psychopath’ said that he’s been in the ring with every member of that faction, including the likes of Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa, etc. Having been in their crosshairs an umpteen number of times, McIntyre asserted that Fatu’s better than every one of them.
To conclude, the former WWE Champion emphasized that he’s going to war with the ‘Samoan Werewolf’ on SmackDown in a must-win scenario.
Jacob Fatu is dealing with a non-wrestling injury as Drew McIntyre clash gains traction
One might wonder why WWE didn’t pull the trigger on a mega match like Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu at Crown Jewel last Saturday. It could be due to the fact that Fatu’s immediate wrestling future is seemingly in limbo. A report from BodySlam has revealed that the 33-year-old is currently dealing with a non-wrestling-related injury.

It’s expected to keep him out of action for a while, with the possible timeframe extending well into 2026. Since the injury is being described as something that doesn’t hamper his ability to wrestle at this point, that’s why his match with McIntyre is still on. If the Scottish Warrior’s words are to be taken by heart, it gives a feeling that something explosive is about to happen in his contest with Fatu.
Jacob Fatu is reportedly said to be dealing with a non-wrestling-related injury that’s expected to keep him out of action for an extended period of time, with it possibly being well into 2026.

The fans could definitely expect an angle to write Fatu off WWE programming until he gets rid of the undisclosed issue. It would not only restore some credibility for McIntyre but also would line him up for a WWE title rematch with Cody Rhodes.
Speaking of the ‘American Nightmare’, he’s slated to address his Crown Jewel loss to Seth Rollins on tonight’s SmackDown. It’d be interesting to hear what he has to say after getting a taste of the same Rolex he gifted to Rollins at last year’s WrestleMania.
As mentioned above, he doesn’t seem to be completely done with McIntyre, who is expected to circle back to his Wrestlepalooza fiasco sooner than later. Before Fatu’s issue came to light, he was reportedly scheduled to run it back with McIntyre at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with the winner becoming the No. 1 contender to Rhodes’ WWE title.
