Former WWE Champion mocks Cody Rhodes following his bizarre segment with The Rock on SmackDown
WWE's top babyface, Cody Rhodes, is due to give his answer to the strange proposal presented to him by The Rock on SmackDown.

On this week’s SmackDown, The Rock called out Cody Rhodes, where at first they were all smiles. But the TKO Board Director slowly started to get in his groove and asserted that he’s the head honcho of WWE. Following a 25-minute segment, Rock made it clear that he wanted only one thing from Rhodes—his soul.
Reacting to it, Drew McIntyre took to X. The Scot took a page out of The Simpsons‘ playbook when the Scot posted a scene from the 1989-debuted animated sitcom. He directed the taunt toward Cody, who must’ve been feeling the aftermath of Rock’s bizarre demand from him. Drew is trying to get under The American Nightmare’s skin.
Which is why he recently reminded Rhodes about being the last WWE Superstar to have pinned him in singles competition. For the unversed, the two had a match on Raw in February 2024. It ended rather tragically for the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion when he succumbed to McIntyre following Solo Sikoa‘s uncalled interference.

Over a year has passed ever since, and Cody hasn’t eaten a pinfall one-on-one. But it could very well change if someone like McIntyre wins the Elimination Chamber match on March 1. To unlock the prospect of facing Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 41, The Scottish Psychopath will have to work his way through a cutthroat field of wrestlers. It includes John Cena, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Damian Priest, and Logan Paul.
The start of this year has been quite underwhelming for McIntyre. On Raw’s Netflix debut show, he lost to Jey Uso. At the Royal Rumble, he got tossed over the top rope by Priest in an elimination that sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe. On the latest edition of SmackDown, Jimmy Uso also stunned the Ayr-born grappler.
Could The Rock favor Drew McIntyre if Cody Rhodes denies the actor his wish?
As the fans witnessed on SmackDown, The Rock wants Cody Rhodes to be his champion, which sounds somewhat reminiscent of a “corporate champion” the Black Adam star once was to Vince McMahon‘s Corporation stable.

Back then, in 1998, The Great One sold out. But will Cody do the same? Rock has invited Rhodes to the Elimination Chamber PLE to give his answer. However, given the babyface Cody is, he’s likely to reject The Final Boss’ offer. In that scenario, what if someone else steps up to Dwayne Johnson?
Rock was the reason Drew McIntyre re-signed.

Rock gifted him a Claymore sword with a letter that he didn’t read out loud.
When Drew did his promos on social media, the sword was behind him.
Drew & Rock met up at the Raw Netflix premiere.
McIntyre will be Rock’s chosen one.
The speculation is already there that it might just be Drew McIntyre if he seals his WrestleMania spot inside the chamber. He could side with The Brahma Bull to dethrone Rhodes by hook or by crook. Moreover, Drew recently insinuated that Rock has been working on a favor that he asked for.
