Soon-to-be-outgoing WWE legend John Cena was the first to declare himself for the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match. It’s his last shot at glory that would see him compete for either of the world titles at WrestleMania 41. However, Drew McIntyre has asked The Cenation Leader to not get in his way. The Scot recently joined the ‘Babyfaces’ podcast and fired some warning shots.
For the unversed, Drew and Cena have never had a singles match in WWE. To rub that stat, McIntyre wants to get in the ring with Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect, not just to compete but also to have an exchange on the microphone. After that, the Ayr-born grappler threatened the Peacemaker star to break his bones or muscles if the latter crosses paths with him in the Rumble match.
Drew reminded everyone what happened to CM Punk last year. A future shock DDT from The Scottish Warrior broke Punk’s triceps off the bone. It forced The Second City Saint to be on the sidelines for six months. However, Cena can’t afford to go through that kind of an ordeal.

The Hollywood actor only has till the end of 2025 to travel the globe and wrestle for his fans one last time. As of now, John is an odds-on favorite to emerge victorious in the Men’s Rumble. Closely following him is Roman Reigns, who announced his participation via Paul Heyman on SmackDown.
According to SKY Bet in the UK, Roman Reigns is now the second favourite to win the men's Royal Rumble next month.

It’d be Reigns’ first Royal Rumble match appearance since 2020, where he finished as the runner-up. The fans are speculating that Cena, Roman, McIntyre, and Punk may be the final four competitors amid a stacked field of 30 wrestlers this time around.
Triple H reveals John Cena’s real intentions from his retirement tour
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H spoke to Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated days before the Netflix premiere of Raw. Upon being asked for a little more insight into The Prototype’s farewell tour, The Game gave a brief account of where Cena’s head is currently and what he wants to achieve out of his final year.
Hunter stated that Cena’s not high on headlining every show he’s on. It’s not even winning the world title once again so as to break Ric Flair‘s all-time record. Instead, per Paul Levesque, the Ricky Stanicky actor wants to go around the places he used to be in while being a full-timer and express gratitude to the people once and for all.
However, the WWE Universe is clamoring for John to pull some strings and taste some well-deserved championship gold before bowing out. Winning the Royal Rumble match will be the first big leap in that direction.
