“I couldn’t bend the knee,” Drew McIntyre discloses how he got past disgruntled medics for in-ring clearance despite knee draining before SmackDown
Before he went out to wrestle on SmackDown last week, Drew McIntyre's knee was worked upon by the doctors.

In a timeline where the WWE roster is as robust as it’s ever been, the cream still separates itself, and that’s what Drew McIntyre is all about. One doesn’t need to do time travel to scramble for a paragon of his tenacity. Take, for instance, last Friday on SmackDown; he was stunned by Jimmy Uso. The latter shockingly scored a roll-up win over the Scot.
Drew’s catastrophic end to the week was somewhat mitigated by the post-match assault he launched on Big Jim. Everyone saw that. But fewer people know what he went through before locking in with Uso. As McIntyre posted on Instagram, he had excessive fluid drained out of his knee merely 45 minutes before SmackDown. There was a real chance he wouldn’t have made the show.
The Scottish Psychopath told SI Wrestling that the doctors weren’t elated with the idea of him pushing through his knee procedure. Drew couldn’t bend his knee fully. But once the fluid was taken out, McIntyre was medically safe to go, or else he wouldn’t have been cleared at all.

Doing the trash talk, something that he does best, the 39-year-old said he’s not a “p***y” like most of his coworkers. McIntyre told the medical personnel that he needed to put on a show he was advertised for and hence did whatever it took to get rid of the physical impediment.
The Chosen One was unfazed despite going down to Jimmy. Speaking to Byron Saxton in a post-match interview, Drew brushed it off, saying it was merely a fluke. He added that he’s not frustrated at all because he’ll win the Elimination Chamber match this Saturday to headline WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
Will Drew McIntyre align himself with The Rock?
Ever since The Rock asked Cody Rhodes to sell his soul to him, there’s been a lot of talk around it. Almost everyone believes that the Undisputed WWE Champion will hold his ground and disavow The Final Boss in their faceoff at the Elimination Chamber.

If it happens, Rock is expected to snap and he’d need someone else to step up and take Rhodes out. That’s where Drew McIntyre enters the picture. He’s one of the rumored choices to accede to The Great One.

rock wants to make cody rhodes his corporate champion, which he’ll clearly decline.
however, out of everyone in the elimination chamber, drew (a known associate) probably wouldn’t.

One theory that one might sleep on is the promo that Drew cut after making his return to Raw in December. He mentioned that while he was away, most of the locker room didn’t even check on him except for one man, which could very well be The Rock. The dots are there to be connected.
