The Rock arguably had the best run of his career during the build-up to WrestleMania XL. Fans have been awaiting the Hollywood Superstar’s return to WWE for months now. However, a recent incident may have postponed any plans for the Final Boss to come back to professional wrestling.

Dwayne Johnson recently posted a photo on Instagram of his right elbow, which he injured while shooting The Smashing Machine. Plenty of blood clots and swelling were visible across his arm. Thankfully, The Brahma Bull confirmed that he had suffered no extensive tissue damage. He revealed that he had ruptured a bursa sac, a fluid-filled sac that acts as a cushion to reduce friction between joints.

The 52-year-old claimed that he had been through much worse. As always, he would let the pain and some tequila guide him through his elbow injury. Further, he said he would immediately go back to work. The People’s Champion also expressed gratitude towards his fans for the love and healing recommendations they were giving him.

The Rock has been involved in the shooting of The Smashing Machine for the past few months. Playing the role of an MMA fighter is intense, and the Great One recently paid the price for it. The probability of the former WWE Champion returning near SummerSlam 2024 has gone down significantly, as he may not be physically fit to do so anymore.

Cody Rhodes talks about what The Rock handed him on the Raw after WrestleMania XL

The Final Boss came out to confront Cody Rhodes the night after he beat Roman Reigns to become WWE Undisputed Champion. The two had a heated exchange, with The Bloodline member handing something to the newly-crowned champion.

In an interview with Esquire, The American Nightmare revealed that many fans have suspected that the Samoan returned the watch that Rhodes had gifted him. The watch in question was to commemorate WrestleMania XL with the logo of the show on the custom dial. Further, the WWE Undisputed Champion installed a few extra links so that the watch would fit on his wrist.

While he did not confirm or deny the suspicions, the 38-year-old claimed that The Rock handing him that item spelled trouble. He did not know about the Hollywood superstar’s schedule and was unsure if he would return to wrestling permanently. However, Cody Rhodes believed that The Final Boss would come looking for him again.
