Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have been together for a decade now. Their relationship did not come by without compromises and understanding. The NBA star recently sat down with Angel Reese on her podcast and opened up about his relationship with Union.
During the podcast, Angel Reese enquired Dwyane Wade on his views about men being insecure of a woman being the dominant one in the relationship. Elaborating on that, Reese asked if it was the hard case for the NBA champion. Admitting the truth, Wade said it was surely an adjustment for both the individuals.
With Gabrielle Union being a strong independent woman, Wade explained his relationship with her was like the relationship he had with Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James on the court. Explaining further, he mentioned that it was like to dabble with teammates, sometimes taking charge, other times standing back.
It wasn’t easy, both sides. She’s an alpha, it was an adjustment. You can see my personality, I’m able to play with Shaq, I’m able to play with LeBron, we’re partners, we’re teammates.

They are also known to poke fun at each other on social media. The couple celebrated their 10th anniversary last month, with Gabrielle Union singing a love song for Dwyane Wade.

In a recent interview, Wade revealed how Union would text him during halftime. The latter would send him real time opinions on his commentary, providing tips to up his game. Wade said he appreciated the criticism since he knew his loved ones were with him during the endeavor.
The Hall of Famer never expected he would do commentary, let alone something as significant as the Paris Olympic Games. He shared how different it felt to be talking about the game from the sidelines compared to playing on the court. Ultimately, stayed true to himself.
