Dwyane Wade never hesitates to make a statement on the red carpet, and his recent appearance at a fashion event was no exception. Joining him for the evening was his daughter, Zaya Wade, a proud fashion enthusiast.
The duo attended the Revolve event, with Dwyane later sharing photos from the night on his Instagram stories. He expressed admiration for Zaya’s beauty alongside a picture of the two together. For the occasion, the Miami Heat legend sported a chic beige co-ord set paired with a matching tank top and silver accessories.
Zaya, meanwhile, turned heads in a stunning black leather dress, layered with a brown fur coat and knee-high leather boots, completing a bold and stylish look.
Dwyane Wade and his daughter Zaya Wade are one of the most admired father-daughter duos. Along with his wife, Gabrielle Union, Wade has received praise for his supportive parenting, especially after Zaya came out as transgender in 2020 at just 12 years old. The couple publicly stood by her and defended her against online criticism, acting as her biggest cheerleaders.
Zaya Wade has also been in the spotlight for her talent in the fashion world. At just 17, she’s been featured in multiple campaigns for the brand Miu Miu and has been a frequent presence at fashion weeks. Using her platform, Zaya advocates for trans rights alongside her father.
Dwayne Wade launches trans-youth safe app with Zaya Wade
Dwyane Wade has consistently embraced his role as a supportive father to his daughter, Zaya Wade. Together, they took a significant step toward empowerment by launching Translatable. This website serves as a safe space and online community for LGBTQ+ youth of color, providing a platform where they can freely express themselves and connect with others.
Congrats, @DwyaneWade and Zaya, on launching this beautiful project! Translatable will be a powerful resource, especially for Black and brown families.

In addition to supporting Zaya, Dwyane Wade has actively worked to bridge societal gaps regarding transgender youth. His advocacy earned him the Elevate Prize Catalyst Award in May, presented in Miami, Florida. The honor included $250,000 in funding for Translatable, the app he co-created to provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth.
Wade humbly described his efforts as what any “good parent” would do. After Zaya publicly came out, Wade and Gabrielle Union relocated their family from Florida to California, driven by the state’s increasingly anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. While the decision was challenging, Wade emphasized the importance of disassociating from a place that did not embrace or support his daughter.
