Eddie Alvarez reacts to his former teammate Irwin Rivera’s attempted murder charge


Former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez reflected his views upon the news regarding UFC bantamweight Irwin Rivera. Irwin is charged with the attempted murder of his sister. According to Irwin, a “higher power” has told him to do so.
Eddie Alvarez reacted to this news and said, “Something must have gone terribly wrong or Irwin’s brain or mind needs to be checked because I know this man along with many teammates and coaches. He is All Love. I’m truly sad to see this and Praying for his Sisters and family. This is not Irwin.”
UFC issued a statement regarding the same and it reads as follows, “UFC is aware of the recent incident involving Irwin Rivera and subsequently received information from his management that he has been exhibiting behavior consistent with mental health issues. The allegations are extremely troubling and the organization is currently gathering additional information.“
“The investigation is ongoing and any potential next steps including disciplinary action or medical attention will be determined upon the conclusion. Furthermore, UFC has informed Rivera’s management that he will not be offered a bout at this time.”
Irwin’s sister views regarding the incident

Lezlye Rivera, Irwin Rivera’s sister finally expressed her views about the incident and posted a message on facebook. The message reads as follows, “We love our brother to the fullest and anyone that knows us and our family knows exactly how much we all LOVE and mean to each other and knows just how close we as a family are. All we wish is for him to get the professional mental help he so desperately needs.”
