Real Madrid have announced that Hazard and Casemiro have tested positive for the coronavirus. The pair trained with the rest of the team before the match against Valencia. However, Madrid have announced that none of the other players tested positive. Zidane will have a selection headache with Casemiro a huge miss in the middle of the park.

Real Madrid put out a statement saying, “Real Madrid CF announces that our players Casemiro and Hazard have given positive results in the Covid-19 tests carried out on Friday morning. All the other players and the coaching staff of the first team, as well as all club employees who work directly with them, gave negative results in that same test carried out yesterday. Likewise, it is confirmed again that all, except for Casemiro and Hazard, have given negative results in the antigen tests carried out this morning.”

Hazard has been struggling with fitness issues all season long and has only played three matches this season. Now, the corona positive report means he will likely missing another two weeks of action which will surely frustrate Madrid fans. Moreover, he has only showed glimpses of his talent in the one year he has been in Madrid and is proving to be a colossal waste of money. He is running out of time at Madrid to prove his worth to the team.

Real Madrid face Valencia next in La Liga on Sunday and will be aiming to increase their lead at the top of the table. The international break kicks off after this match for two weeks and hopefully the two players will be available by then.
