“Eden Hazard has apologised to me, players and the club”, says Zidane on the infamous laughing incident

Zinedine Zidane has confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Eden Hazard apologised to everyone in the club for laughing after their Champions League exit against Chelsea. Real lost 2-0 in the semi-final and pitch-side cameras caught Eden Hazard laughing with his ex-teammates minutes after their defeat.
Real Madrid take on Sevilla in La Liga, in what could well be a title deciding match for the Los Blancos. And Zidane wants everyone to put the Hazard incident in the past and focus on their next challenge at hand.
“He is a Real Madrid player and will compete for the club”, said Zidane on Hazard’s struggles at the club
Zidane revealed that he has had a conversation with the Belgian forward who has apologised for his behaviour which hurt sections of the Real Madrid fan-base.
“Hazard has already apologised for what happened the other day,” the coach said.
“He didn’t mean to offend anybody and he has said that. He is a Real Madrid player and will compete for Real Madrid.
“He knows what he has to do on the pitch and he’ll do that. We spoke after the match the other day. He spoke with me, the players and the club about what happened. It’s now in the past.”
Zidane also empathised with the lack of fortune for Hazard since his arrival at the club. The Belgian has so far failed to live up to his big move from Chelsea but the coach believes he will steadily reach the level everyone expects him to.
“All the players have their hearts in the club but for now it hasn’t been possible to see the Eden Hazard we want to see,” Zidane said.
“But I believe he is going to get there. It’s a difficult moment with everything that’s happened but he has a contract and what he wants is to succeed here.”
Hazard will have a chance to redeem himself in the crucial tie against Sevilla on Sunday as Real look to move to the top of La Liga this weekend. The La Liga title is in Real Madrid’s hands after the 0-0 stalemate between Barcelona and Atletico yesterday.
