After an intense week of speculation, Emma Raducanu has finally lifted lid on his relationship with Carlos Alcaraz. The 2021 US Open champion claimed to have an interaction with the former World No.1 since the 2021 Wimbledon.
In an interview with The Express, Raducanu claimed that Alcaraz indirectly motivated her during her memorable 2021 US Open campaign. The British player won her first and only Grand Slam title at Flushing Meadows four years ago.
I’ve known him for a few years. At Wimbledon 2021, I started to get to know him and had a very good run, and then came the US Open 2021. I remember he always played a day before me: I saw him win, and that motivated me to do the same. I remember he beat Stef (Tsitsipas) in the third round, and it was a great triumph, his breakthrough moment in a Grand Slam: it was fantastic, in a way, to experience that tournament together and to keep advancing through the US Open draw; we stayed in touch all the time. It was beautiful. We still have a good relationship. It’s clear he has surpassed me, but it’s great to see that it’s still there. I think we all value those bonds we create when we were younger, because when you become more well-known or successful, you realize that you want to talk to people you’ve known from childhood; you feel that there’s a genuine and real connection there: friends you’ve known for a long time mean more to you.
Alcaraz and Raducanu are set to play mixed doubles at the 2025 US Open. The duo is the most hyped pair out of all the high-profile players involved in this year’s field.
However, the relationship rumors just don’t seem to go away. When Raducanu came to watch Alcaraz at the Queen’s Club, the speculation caught even more fire. However, Alcaraz tried his best to keep the flame off those rumors.
Wimbledon confirms Carlos Alcaraz’s seed for 2025
Jannik Sinner will continue his streak as the No.1 seed at Grand Slam events, leading the men’s field at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. He has held the top ranking since June 2024 and was also the top seed at the last four majors. Carlos Alcaraz, a five-time Grand Slam winner and two-time defending champion at Wimbledon, will be seeded second once again.

Alexander Zverev is the third seed, keeping the same position he held at the French Open. Jack Draper has earned his first top-four Grand Slam seeding and will be the No.4 seed at his home Slam. The 23-year-old achieved this milestone by overtaking Taylor Fritz and Novak Djokovic in the rankings after his performance at Queen’s Club. Draper becomes the highest-seeded Brit at Wimbledon since Andy Murray in 2017.
Fritz will enter the tournament as the fifth seed, while Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam winner and seven-time Wimbledon champion, will be seeded sixth. This marks his lowest seeding at the All England Club since 2018. Lorenzo Musetti and Holger Rune will take the seventh and eighth spots, with Daniil Medvedev and Ben Shelton rounding out the top 10.
Several notable names have withdrawn from the tournament. Casper Ruud and Arthur Fils were set to be the 15th and 16th seeds, but both have pulled out due to injury. Sebastian Korda, who is ranked 31st, has also withdrawn. The United States will have the most seeded players in the men’s singles draw with six representatives: Fritz, Shelton, Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, Brandon Nakashima, and Alex Michelsen.
Carlos Alcaraz edge closer to Jannik Sinner in the ATP Rankings
Carlos Alcaraz has narrowed the gap between himself and Jannik Sinner in the ATP Rankings after winning the Queen’s Club Championships. Just two months ago, Sinner held a 3,500-point lead. Since then, Alcaraz has secured titles at Monte Carlo, the Italian Open, the French Open, and Queen’s Club. His latest victory has brought him within 1,130 points of Sinner.

Sinner lost 450 points after failing to defend his title in Halle, leaving him with 10,430 points. Alcaraz, meanwhile, gained 450 points in London and now sits at 9,300. Despite this, Sinner is expected to stay at No.1 following Wimbledon. He is defending 1,300 points, while Alcaraz has 2,000 points to defend as last year’s champion.
Alexander Zverev remains in third place following his semi-final loss in Halle. Jack Draper, however, has moved up two spots to match his career-best ranking of fourth. This new position secures him the No. 4 seed at Wimbledon, marking an improvement from his seeding at the French Open. He now leads a group that includes Taylor Fritz, Novak Djokovic, and others.
Daniil Medvedev has returned to the top 10 after reaching the final in Halle, where he lost to Alexander Bublik. The Kazakh player has jumped 15 spots to No. 30 following his title win, making him a seed for Wimbledon. Jiri Lehecka, runner-up at Queen’s Club, rose five spots to No. 25. Veteran Marin Cilic is also back in the top 100, climbing to No. 85 after winning a Challenger title in Nottingham.
