Another highlight from the San Francisco 49ers’ Sunday game is making waves on the internet, which has not been about their on-field play. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel has been hugely called out for his altercation with teammates, Taybor Pepper and Jake Moody during a tense moment on the sidelines.
Although the 49ers won their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it was a closely contested matchup. And after kicker Moody missed his third field goal, wide receiver Samuel’s frustration reached a boiling point.
As the Niners’ kicker walked off the field to the sideline, he was confronted by Samuel. When long snapper Pepper joined in, Samuel lost his patience and was spotted grabbing Pepper by the throat before pushing him aside.
Seeing such aggressiveness in the All-Pro receiver, sports analyst Emmanuel Acho blasted him in the recent episode of Fox Sports’ The Facility. Acho was quite offended by Samuel’s misconduct on the sideline and questioned his leadership.
I don’t know I’ve ever had a bigger issue with something that occurred intra-football team than the issue I had with Deebo punching his teammate. If you don’t defend your teammates, who will? At the end of the day, the long snapper should be protecting his kicker from the opponent, the long snapper shouldn’t be protecting his kicker from his teammate.
Emmanuel Acho asserted
.@EmmanuelAcho has a huge problem with Deebo Samuel putting his hands on his teammate.

The former NFL linebacker also clarified that if Samuel had been holding his teammates accountable, he would have been hyping and telling him to make the kicks, not going for a punch straight ahead, in the middle of the game.
Emmanuel Acho highlights Deebo Samuel’s mistakes in key moments
Following the incident, the Pro Bowler receiver expressed remorse for letting his frustration get the best of him. However, the damage was already done by then. While talking about how wrong Samuel’s behavior was, the Fox Sports analyst also highlighted the mistakes made by the receiver in big games.

Deebo, you are not perfect. Deebo, I have seen you drop some catches. Deebo, you are All-Pro and you’ve had lesser moments in bigger stages and we don’t call you out for that.
Emmanuel Acho added
He also highlighted how Jauan Jennings had to step up in the games against the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions when Samuel was injured. Yet, he didn’t acknowledge Moody’s injury which affected his performance. Even though missing three kicks was inexcusable, the veteran wide receiver’s behavior of attacking him in the middle of the game was unacceptable.
