“Engine Mode error didn’t make a difference,” Lewis Hamilton reckons Max Verstappen would have won the Dutch GP in any scenario

“Engine Mode error didn’t make a difference,” Lewis Hamilton reckons Max Verstappen would have won the Dutch GP in any scenario

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen

Lewis Hamilton lost out to Max Verstappen at the Dutch GP. While some of them think it was a mistake done by the strategic team, people also have a decent fight against Lewis. Though Hamilton turns up and removes all of the rumours, nothing hides the loss he had to suffer after coming so close to the victory.

Max Verstappen won his home race but not so easily as the last time. Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes gave the driver a run for his tenth win but all of it got ruined just because of a safety car. The funny thing about all of it is, that the safety car was brought out by former Mercedes driver, Valtteri Bottas. Anyway, Lewis had a decent chance for a win this weekend but he opted to stay on medium tyres for a run after the safety car. Though it was a wrong decision, he also had some incidents just after the restart.

Lewis Hamilton explains the mistake he committed, “Basically when you do slow laps you’re in one strategy [mode] and when we go to the start map you’re in a different strategy. I was slightly late to it but it didn’t make a difference,” said Lewis.

Lewis Hamilton is staring from the back of the grid at the Italian GP. He opted for a new engine at the temple of speed with an expectation to gain much more positions than any other track. Though Mercedes aren’t really strong on the straights, they could still make a difference seeing the progress they have managed since the start of the season.

“We’ve been making so much progress in the team, we’re closing the gap more and more weekend after weekend. Of course, we don’t know how the car’s going to be here this weekend. I expect it’s not going to be as good as it was in the last race. We’ll find out,” Lewis said.

Mercedes are back being the strongest on track with a great race pace. They are trying to get Ferrari on the championship table and will very well do so with their consistency.
