Chelsea are yet to figure out how they are to work with a squad comprising more than 40 players. The Blues have won their most recent Premier League game with a 6-2 demolition of Wolves. Despite new man Joao Felix grabbing a goal in his debut, the situation for Raheem Sterling, Trevoh Chalobah and many other Chelsea outcasts have gone from bad to worse.
Sterling has been at the center of a transfer saga at the club, with the men in blue actively looking for a way to offload the Englishman. After time and again making it clear that the winger has not been included in his plans for the new season, Maresca reminded him once again of the same. In a recent press conference, Maresca said the Sterling will not receive any minutes if he opts to stay.
All the players training apart will not get any minutes in case they stay. It's not just Raheem, all of them.Enzo Maresca told the press
As of now, Chelsea are in talks with Manchester United to explore the potential of swapping Sterling with Jadon Sancho. However, the Reds are also in negotiations with Serie A giants Juventus who are interested in signing Sancho on loan.
Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez loving life under Enzo Maresca
Very few players are guaranteed a spot in the starting XI at Chelsea. With players in the excess of 40 at their disposal, it becomes a mammoth task for the manager to find a working formula for the club. Despite signing several goalkeepers in the transfer window, Maresca has chosen to stick with 26-year-old Robert Sanchez.

Despite failing to keep a clean sheet in the first two games of the new season, Enzo Maresca made the decision to start him over Djordje Petrovic, who had initially started games when Sanchez was out with an injury. Further questions of his importance to the squad were raised when Filip Jorgensen was signed from Villarreal with emphasis on the player suiting Maresca’s style of play.
I feel really comfortable in this position. I know what he likes his goalkeeper to do ever since he arrived and I'm very happy with what I'm doing. Maresca is happy and we're going to keep doing the same.Robert Sanchez told Chelsea
The Blues play their next game against Servette FC to qualify for the UEFA Conference League before taking on Crystal Palace at home.
