Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag demanded patience from fans, ahead of a crucial EPL encounter against Aston Villa this weekend. The Red Devils have been struggling this season, amid rumors that he might be sacked for poor display.
United currently find themselves in the 13th position on the Premier League table with just seven points, way behind the top four spots. It also marks their worst start to a season since 1986-87. They have won two and lost three out of their six matches while scoring just five goals.
Moreover, United are yet to open their account in the Europa League, drawing against Twente and Porto. They next face fifth-placed Aston Villa, who are coming off a historic 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the UCL.
Manager Erik ten Hag, who risks losing his job owing to poor results, recently urged fans to remain patient regarding results. He pleaded with fans to keep supporting the club, as well as to not judge them on the basis of recent results. Ten Hag necessarily stated the need to develop the team, as well as work towards building a connection between the staff and the players.

Moreover, Ten Hag highlighted the Manchester United players’ strong spirit and will to fight, as well as their winning mentality. The pressure is mounting on the Dutchman, as he walks on a tightrope following back-to-back poor results.
Erik ten Hag speaks on Manchester United’s disappointing outing against Porto in the Europa League
Manchester United were held to a disappointing 3-3 draw by Portuguese side FC Porto in the Europa League. Meanwhile, skipper Bruno Fernandes received a second consecutive red card, after earning one during a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham, last weekend.
The Man Utd defense remains a key concern, giving away a two-goal lead against Porto. Ten Hag was forced to send in the experienced Harry Maguire, who saved the match with a late equalizer. Speaking after the match, he stated that United lost control of the match in the second half, despite starting on a positive note. However, he praised the team’s will and strong character to make a brilliant comeback.
Moreover, the Dutchman was equally appreciative of the team’s strategies of ball control and switching players during the match. He highlighted the need to return back to its previous form.
