ESIC Bans 7 MDL Australia CS:GO Players For Betting Related Offences
ESIC had announced in an official statement on Sep 3 that they had been looking into a matter that had been contemporarily in the professional CSGO scene for “nearly 18 months.”
The esports watchdog made a statement that there were investigations being performed on as many as 15 persons involved in the Mountain Dew League match-fixing and betting. These potential infringements were of “remarkable concern to the industry,” ESIC( Esports Integrity Commision) stated at the time.
The investigation of 18 months has resulted in ESIC confirming 12-month competitive bans from Counter-Strike for 7 Australian players. The officials also added that investigations are still continuing on match-fixing in both countires North America and Australia.
According to the investigation results and its report, ESIC has made a confirmation and said that “by the joint investigation of both ESIC and ESEA, ESIC had founded that there were seven present CSGO players who were a part of MDL Australia did bettings on MDL matches.” they made betting on the related matches in which they were performing
As a part of the investigation reports, they have found some personals accused of placing illegal betting. They placed betting on the matches that they were participating in,” revealed by the Oct-23 reports.
Above all,“Apart from that, ESIC also had found a few illegal betting activities made by offending parties”.
Results of ESIC investigation on match bettings
The players who were banned are a part of three organizations which are playing in MDL-Australia, and four CSGO lineups. As revealed by the report, The banned players include five individuals from Rooster, One player from Ground Zero Gaming and another from LAKERS.
ESIC and ESEA have banned all involved CSGO players in illegal activities for 12 months. ESIC banned these players for all competitive games for 12 months. The future competitive scenes or tournaments include ESEA, WePlay, ESL, BLAST, DreamHack etc.
