I mean it was a no-brainer for us, especially after the Finals. We knew we were a  Klay Thompson away, we felt.

It’s important to note that, Thompson has signed a $50 million contract on a three-year deal with the Mavs. Also, the prospect of teaming up with stars like Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving makes the Mavs a top contender in the NBA.

On the contrary, Thompson averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists during his successful season the previous year. Even though he is not the same player as he was in the heyday of the Warriors, he is still a talented three-point shooter, which is exactly what the Mavericks need.
