Some of these games are true gems that were missed due to other larger mainline titles being released in the same year or other industry problems.

5) The Saboteur

One of the most underrated action-adventure/open-world games that have ever been released is The Saboteur.

The game is set in Nazi-occupied France, Paris, and is truly brilliant. The 2009 game tasks the player and the protagonist, Sean, to overthrow and dethrone the Nazi occupation in Paris. 

Moreover, the Saboteur has some outstanding platforming gameplay that will make players feel a resemblance to games from the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

4) Vampyr

Vampyr is a game that players must have missed in 2018 due to other massive releases such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War 2018.

Vampyr put players in the streets of gritty and dark London in 1918. Moreover, the game has an enjoyable gameplay loop and helps players truly fulfil their vampire fantasies. The game has multiple endings, and the story is very mysterious and full of dangers. Do give it a try.

1) Batman Arkham Origins

The Batman Arkham franchise is among the most successful superhero game franchises ever. Although Rocksteady Games was the studio that started the series and was releasing the mainline entries, Batman Arkham Origins was developed by WB Games Montreal and was released in 2013.
