In Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 players are no strangers to server-related issues. Time and time again, Activision receives a lot of complaints about players being unable to connect to the Call of Duty servers. Besides that, players also experience various glitches and game lag while playing. Although these hamper the gameplay experience a lot, the biggest problem is that Activision is not doing anything to fix it.

Over the years, in Call of Duty server, connection has been one of the biggest issues. Apart from having trouble during play, players also complain about the excruciatingly long waiting time. Activision’s role in making improvements to the game has come into question. This has forced players to abandon the game and switch to another one. But this could soon be changing.

Call of Duty games, especially Warzone 2, have multiple issues when it comes to COD servers alone. If you have played the game, you would have seen queueing with 150 people turns into 120 while you are deploying. This happens due to the server lag and lots of players end up timing out from the match. Some have even termed Warzone 2 having some of the worst servers in terms of an FPS shooter.

The Call of Duty server works like this, if you do any kind of movement in the game it sends signal back to the main frame and from there to various other gaming devices where the movement can be seen. When you are fighting against an enemy, you shoot from a gun or throw a punch or do melee, these happens due to server tick rate which keeps track of everything. These are basically information’s that the server records. But these being information’s, sometimes can malfunction due to discrepancies. Moreover, players might have witnessed that, when they perform a movement in game it will not occur as you see. Let’s say you fired a shot and killed an opponent, but the next second you see yourself dying. This happens because of the server problem in games which Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are famous for.

But the developers Activision not actively making improvements to solve the problem is the main reason for the player’s anger. In recent times lot of players are stepping away from the game due to the server problems in MW 2 and Warzone 2. Besides that, the lack of innovative ideas, repetition of same gaming content and most of all Hackers have made the game unplayable and stale. Famous Warzone 2 streamers even switched back to Warzone 1 saying it had better gameplay mechanics over Warzone 2. Apart from the game being stale, lot of people are getting put off due to the microtransactions in the game making it pay to win now.

Is Activision finally making a positive move?

Earlier Call of Duty on Twitter posted addressing to resolve the Call of Duty server issues that players complaining about. In the post they wrote, “We are investigating reports of server-related gameplay issues and are actively working to resolve them.

Whether or not Activision fix the Call of Duty server issue gets fixed and making it lag free is still up in the air. Although it may seem like this announcement happened after all the boycott rumors, there’s still confirmation if that’s the case. Aside from the server issue players also have one more demand is to introduce better Anti-cheat to get rid of the hacker problem once and for all.
