Due to security and data concerns, the game was suspended by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology back in 2022. However, after long considerations and check-ons, the game was restored only to be given a 3-month period that would determine its feasibility in the gaming community in India. The game has completed over 100 million downloads on Google Play Store ever since its launch.

As soon as the game was relaunched, it saw immense success, and with the improved security that the game displays, the game will be back permanently. The BGMI community was facing issues logging in; however, that has since been fixed as the game will now be restored permanently.

Before the rerelease, Krafton made sure to make the game friendly. They had taken action, such as setting a play time limit for under-16 players, to limit addiction, as the game was heavily influencing the youth and a large part of the Indian audience. However, apart from restrictions, BGMI had reached massive heights with all the tournaments that took place in only 3 months. They had even made it on national television to be streamed on one of the largest OTT giants, JioCinema.

With all that said, fans are buzzing with excitement as the game is officially going to be restored permanently. The exciting tournaments, new themes, battle royale passes, and all the updates that Krafton has in store will be released, all without the fear of the game being suspended by the government. Fans can now expect some more giants to collaborate with BGMI in the coming future
