Cosmetics are a huge part of Fortnite. From various character skins and pickaxes to even emotes, a considerable emphasis is placed on the game’s cosmetic items. Although such items do not affect core gameplay in any manner, players are always eager to add to their aesthetic collection. Hence, players have always wondered if they could gift skins in Fortnite to their friends.
Epic Games is also infamous for introducing incredible collaborations to the game. Video game franchises such as Metal Gear Solid, TV shows like The Invincibles, and even real-life personalities like Lewis Hamilton, Eminem, and Lady Gaga have all seen their versions of the Fortnite skins introduced in the game.

Most long-time players of the game have reached a point where they possess too many skins in their locker and rarely use most of them. Several players also regret purchasing certain skins. Epic Games also does not allow you to refund V-bucks after purchasing an item from the store.
These cosmetic items also come at a significant cost. Most premium crossover skins are available in the Fortnite shop for 1,800 V-bucks, roughly $15. Due to these factors, players often wish to gift skins in Fortnite to their friends. This allows them to eliminate skins they do not use and receive others in return, allowing them to use more skins for a fraction of the cost.
No, you cannot gift skins in Fortnite through your locker
Epic Games does allow you to gift skins in Fortnite if both players have 2-factor authentication. However, this cannot be done directly from your locker. The Fortnite locker will enable you to customize and manage your cosmetic items. This includes outfits (skins), back blings, harvesting tools (pickaxes), gliders, contrails, wraps, emotes, and loading screens.

Once certain items are added to your locker, you can no longer gift them to other players in Fortnite. While this is highly disappointing for some, the restriction prevents players from skin trading, something that Fortnite and Epic Games have actively worked to avoid.
