How to find and unlock Room of Requirements in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action role-playing game developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Warner Bros. in 2023. The nominee for the “Most Anticipated Game” has a huge open world map for players to explore and many secret locations to discover.

The Room of Requirements is one such location that players get access to later on in the story after completing a certain quest. It is a very integral part of the game’s storyline as players find themselves visiting the room time and again. The Room of Requirement is a sort of personal room given to players where they can add and edit items to the room. Unlike the common room of the houses, the Room of Requirement gives players complete freedom to customize the room to their liking.

The Room of Requirement is also the place where players can store their magical beasts, brew potions, and also care for their plants. Players can also use the Desk of Description found in the room to identify items that they find throughout the open world while questing or exploring. The Room of Requirement cannot be found before completing a certain quest no matter how hard someone looks for it. The room is also a magical place as it can sense what the owner needs and begins to change in that certain way.

How to unlock and find the Hogwarts Legacy Room of Requirement

The Room of Requirement is introduced to players by Professor Weasley during the Trials and Tribulations quest. Following this quest, players are presented with the main quest for the Room of Requirement. To complete the Room of Requirement main quest, players must master the configuration spell taught by Professor Weasley. Players are then prompted to find the house elf Deek so that he can show the protagonist how the room works.

The Room of Requirement is a hidden room not visible to other NPCs as the doorway to the room disappears when players exit the room. After unlocking the Room of Requirement, players can find it again in a wall in the Astronomy Wing of Hogwarts which can be accessed by going up the stairs of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower. An easier way to access the room would be to use the Floo Flames which can be found on the map screen. To access the Floo Flame to the secret room on the map screen, players must click on the sun icon near the top of the screen hovering over Hogwarts itself, and then select the Room of Requirement to travel to it.
