Where to find the Ruins Greatsword in Elden Ring
The first step to acquiring the Ruins Greatsword is defeating Starscourge Radahn, one of the most challenging bosses of the mid-game. Radahn is a formidable foe, so be prepared to use all your skills and strategies to defeat him. Once you’ve defeated him, return to Redmane Castle and speak to Witch-Hunter Jerren. You can find Jerren in the church above and behind Redmane Plaza. He is the organizer of the Radahn Festival and looks like Slave Knight Gael. Exhaust his dialogue, and he will later become involved in Sorceress Sellen’s quest.
After speaking to Jerren, reload the area and head back to Redmane Plaza. You will find that the plaza is now blocked by a boss gate. You’ll have to defeat a dual boss of the Misbegotten Warrior and another sword- and shield-wielding Crucible Knight. It takes a minute for the knight to spawn after the Misbegotten. The best strategy is to overwhelm the Misbegotten with DPS and eliminate it before the Knight joins the fight.
Once you defeat the dual boss, the Ruins Greatsword will automatically be given to you as a reward. This powerful weapon has the standard Colossal Sword moveset with wide, sweeping arcs for its light attacks and forward hammer strikes for heavy. The Ruins Greatsword’s Ashes of War, “Wave of Destruction,” is a highly damaging close-range gravity magic strike with a short wind-up.
The Ruins Greatsword is a heavy weapon that requires a large amount of Endurance to perform its full combo or wear heavier armor with it. So be sure to allocate your stats wisely and choose your battles carefully. With the Ruins Greatsword in your hands, you’ll be able to deal massive damage and crush your enemies in the world of the Elden Ring.
