The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set in the post period which comes 5 years later in the storyline, from the prequel Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game is set on the vast planet of Koboh and features a multiple deranged and complex map. With different settings for terrain and location, the game justified the premise of the Kuboh to the best of its ability. With that said it is also a task of great importance to go from one location to the destined or favored place in the game.
The game has taken care of it with various mounts that are freely roaming the desert landscape. Several reliable and crafty creatures can be used to travel from places across different terrains. But for Cal to get on one and travel needs some taming the beasts of this land. Here is an insight into doing that and steps to follow for the same.
With no supplies and ships for Cal to venture around in the deserts and locations of Kuboh, the game has made it even more interesting with new mounts. With various animals available for traveling around the place, here’s how players can mount the animals and pet them.

Mounting an animal is the subsequent process after players are done taming the animal for the same. So first players will have to find the mount and tame them.
Here are steps to tame the mounts:
- Find any suitable creature in the game the player wishes to ride.
- Go near your favored animal, close the gap between yourself and the mount but not too close to scare them off.
- Once near the mount, an appropriate option will prompt on the screen
- After choosing this option, players will have to tame the animal only once.
The ability to tame creatures doesn’t come in the early stages of the game. This feature gets introduced after players reach the Forest of Array story arch. This is also where Cal meets with Cere Junda who guides Cal in taming and mounting the creatures of Kuboh.
How to pet the Mounts in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?
For petting the mounts the players have to press the D-pad button on their controller or specific key bindings in the PC settings of the game. After doing so, it cuts to the scene where the mount will face themselves toward Cal by rotating the head and Cal will tap the head and pet them. This scene lasts for a few seconds. While players have taken a liking to this feature the bonding between the Mount and Cal is strengthened in Survivor.
