Talismans are a type of item in Elden Ring that provide players with various passive abilities. These abilities can enhance players’ character’s abilities in a multitude of ways. Talismans can increase health and magic to improve damage for certain builds. They can also enhance sneaking capabilities. Talismans are highly sought-after items that can significantly boost a player’s performance in the game.

One such talisman is The Godfrey Icon. The Godfrey Icon is particularly useful for players who rely on spells or Ash of War skills. This talisman enhances charged spells, allowing players to deal more damage to their enemies. It also charges up equipped skills, making it even more effective when combined with Ashes of War.

How to acquire the Godfrey Icon Talisman

The Godfrey Icon talisman’s item description reads:

“A legendary talisman depicting the Elden Lord Godfrey. Raises charge attack power of sorceries, incantations, and skills. Godfrey was a ferocious warrior. When he vowed to become a lord, he took the Beast Regent Serosh upon on his back to suppress the ceaseless lust for battle that raged within.”

Obtaining The Godfrey Icon is no easy feat. Players can acquire the Godfrey Icon at the Golden Lineage Evergaol. To reach the Golden Lineage Evergaol, players must first ride south under the bridge across the land, east of the Grand Lift of Dectus. Once there, players will need to spend a Stonesword Key to unlock the door and gain entry. It’s worth noting that the player should not attempt to fall down the cliff to reach the Golden Lineage Evergaol, as it will result in their death. Instead, players should go north and circle to avoid this danger.

Inside the Golden Lineage Evergaol, players will find Godefroy, the Grafted. Godefroy the Grafted is a formidable opponent who must be defeated in a boss fight to obtain The Godfrey Icon talisman in Elden Ring.

Godefroy is similar to Godrick’s first stage, with some adjustments to health and damage. As such, players who are familiar with Godrick should be able to defeat Godefroy with some preparation.

Godefroy is a boss who will attack regularly, but sometimes he will unleash a five-strike combination that finishes with a powerful slam that breaks the player’s poise. To avoid this, players should dodge away during the first three strikes and then dodge towards him for the final two. Additionally, the boss has a charge attack where he will either roll and smash or throw two tornadoes. Although both attacks are easy to avoid, players must pay close attention to which one he will use.

Defeating Godefroy will grant players with the Godfrey Icon Talisman. They can then equip this item in their inventory in order to use it.
