NetherRealm teases Mortal Kombat 12 with 30th anniversary “Thank You” video
Mortal Kombat 12 gets teased by NetherRealm in latest YouTube video!
One of the best fighting games in the world as of now, Mortal Kombat, was released back in the year 1992. The game originally came out as an arcade only fighting game that was almost instantly popularized for its immensely violent moves and finishers known as fatality!
The game has then gone on to see immense success with numerous versions releasing over the years and seeing the game expand on over to different platforms as well such as the PlayStation, Xbox, the Nintendo Switch and of course, the PC.
The game’s last iteration was seen in the form of Mortal Kombat 11 which was released a little over 4 years ago on 23rd April 2019. The game was very well received and saw millions of copies being sold worldwide.
However, as mentioned earlier, the game came out over 4 years ago and fans are now getting desperate to get their hands on a new iteration of Mortal Kombat which will make them seethe with adrenaline and land even more fatalities on their opponents.
As the company that makes the highly violent popular game, NetherRealm, celebrated 30 years of Mortal Kombat coming out, they released a thank you video to thank their fans and a everyone who may have had a hand behind their success.
In the video, numerous different associates from the game’s development team expressed their gratitude to the fans and the players who had always played the game ever since its first iteration and had remained loyal to and supported the franchise for the past 30 years that the game had been out for.

As the medley of the clips of gratitude came to an end with the Co Creator of Mortal Kombat, Ed Boon thanking the fans, he went ahead and said, “Thank you, Mortal Kombat fans, for 30 years of amazing support. And we’re not quite done yet.” As the clip came to an end, the video transitioned on to a trail of sand falling through a thin funnel which fans think is Kronika’s hourglass which was featured in Mortal Kombat 11’s various endings.
The video then zooms on into a small grain of sand up close and as the grain is brought more into focus, it explodes! and with the explosion, there are now speculations that as with the end of Mortal Kombat 11, there were multiple things that could’ve messed with the timeline of the game and there could be yet another MK reboot kept in store for us.
