There was a certain period when the Assassin’s Creed series was going downhill fast. Assassin’s Creed Unity was considered the worst game in the series, and Syndicate couldn’t bring back the charm either. The series took a break for a year and came out with Assassin’s Creed Origins. The game was a huge hit, critically acclaimed by gamers and critics alike.

Since then, the series has seen a bit of a resurgence. Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Valhalla, and Odyssey have been highly successful. With less than a month since the release of Mirage, we already have some information about Assassin’s Creed Red. We can also expect an earlier release date for the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series.

Pierre Boudreau, the lead writer of Assassin’s Creed Red, recently updated his LinkedIn profile’s banner. The banner contained an image that was supposedly the artwork for the next game. Furthermore, the banner features the game’s logo and also gives a glimpse at what is assumed to be the game’s lead protagonist.

Pierre has since taken down the banner. If you visit his profile now, you will see a banner of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, his LinkedIn bio still says that he is working on “Assassin’s Creed: PROJECT RED“.

Assassin’s Creed Red Information Leaked

The artwork features a new version of the classic Assassin’s Creed logo on the right of the image. From what we know about the game already, you can play between two female characters, one of which is a samurai. The artwork also features a katana-wielding assassin in the middle of the image, who we can assume is going to be one of the protagonists of the next game.

Her attire seems to indicate that she is a high-ranking assassin. She appears to be wearing a beaked hood, which is only rewarded to assassins who surpass the apprentice level and become master-level assassins. This confirms that the game will be sticking to the classic theme of “Assassins vs Templars” and is going to be the first game to take place in a Japanese setting.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Red is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the studio behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Syndicate. It has also been leaked that the Brand Partnership teams at the studio have already begun looking for sponsorship partners for the game. This search is quite early in the game’s development cycle. Not only does this almost confirm that the game is going to be released in 2024, but it could be released sooner than the series’ usual October release.
